On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, Assistant Professor Dr. Lazgeen A. Jameel, President of the University of Zakho welcomed Mr. Stanford Clare, an American academic and Kurd's friend, and Mr. Amad Damirhan, an expert and scholar from South Kurdistan.

At the beginning, they held a meeting with members of the University's Council at the Presidency Building and discussed about Kurdistan's situation, and relationship between Erbil and Baghdad. They also agreed that only through dialogues problems can be solved. After that, they held an open debate at the Hall of Khalil Khayali at the Faculty of Humanities to talk about Iraq constitution.
